A large earthenware vase of rectangular form, each side painted with a single panel, one depicting an extensive mountainous landscape with rice farmers in their fields in the foreground, another with figures in a garden viewing chrysanthemums, another with fishermen in their boats on a lake, and the fourth with monkeys among rocks and bamboo, after a design by Mori Sosen (1747-1821). Each within a roundel border, the ground scattered with stylized flowers and scrolls, the shoulder with chrysanthemums, and the neck with a formal diaper band.
