This elaborately decorated vase was in the house when the National Park Service began to manage the site in 1975. It may have been here when Miss Barton was here and if it was it is likely one of the many things in the house that had been given to her as a gift. Clara Barton was given so many different kinds of gifts in appreciation of her life, work and friendship.
