"Vaza-Barris and Umburanas Rivers"

Here we can see the meeting between the beds of the Vaza-Barris (curved) and Umburanas (below, running perpendicular to the Vaza-Barris) rivers. Both were used to supply water to Canudos during floods and, in droughts, as a path for the local population, in addition to natural trenches in combat. You can see soldiers and campaign tents installed on the bed of Vaza-Barris after the end of the fighting.
