Studebaker often advertised its products at large international expositions, like the pavilion seen here at Chicago's Columbian Exposition in 1893 featuring Abraham Lincoln's carriage. Three years earlier, Clement Studebaker purchased the carriage that transported President Lincoln to Ford's Theater the night he was assassinated. The carriage was immediately placed in Studebaker's collection and displayed often as a tribute to Studebaker's industry and as an important piece of American history. While the carriage itself was not built by Studebaker, it is a priceless historical artifact and remains part of the Museum's permanent collection.
