This is thought to be one of Alexandre Lefebvre's Velocipedes built in 1843 in France. The wheels are wooden, with iron tires and wooden spokes. Its front wheel diameter is 30", back wheel 36". The body, seat, pedals, and handle bar are hand-carved. A Goode head carving extends in front from body frame. The seat is hinged to lift up. The pedals are attached to a mechanism that rotates wheels by pumping them rather than being pushed in a circle.
