Velvet decorated with vegetable motifs and with gilted metal-wrapped threads. The stylized vegetable decoration is arranged in horizontal bands that seem to have its origins in the Eastern world and in particular, in Ottoman art, although the process is clearly Gothic. There are doubts about the workshop or author of this fragment. Today it is still unknown if it was the work of an Italian or an Iberian workshop. It can be dated around 1474, when Henry IV of Spain, brother of Isabella I of Castile, died. He was buried in the Royal Monastery of Guadalupe in Caceres. In the Royal Academy of History (Madrid) there is a fragment of similar characteristics to this one and that comes from the tomb of this King.
