TSUGANE Yoshikuni’s work has been shaped by the instruction
he received from his father, TSUGANE Kakusen,
and his studies in classic literature and handwriting. With
this training, he honed a unique style of calligraphy free
from the constraints of traditional Japanese calligraphic
techniques. The exceptional movement and rhythm of his
strokes illustrate the expanding horizons of the world of
calligraphy. For this particular piece, Tsugane used a verse
from the poet Tao Yuanming.
