This vertical aerial photograph was taken by the Royal Air Force in spring 1947. It shows Coventry city centre and the extent to which it was damaged by Luftwaffe bombing during the Second World War. Visible are cleared buildings, recently-erected temporary buildings, and, to the centre-left, the remains of Coventry Cathedral.
