This is a rare and remarkable Moche vessel. It is decorated on both sides. The front side has a depiction of a distorted face probably showing some disease. Ease and disease have an extended iconography in the Mochica pottery. In this particular vessel various animals are depicted both in relief and painted form on the other side. The animals are incorporated together interestingly to fill up every single space of the vessel. The face in itself portrayed twisted and uneven with a reptile covering the top of the vessel. The vessel seeming to have a spout with a broken handle poses as an interesting study in itself as it intricately portrays man animal co-existence in a single configuration.
