Attr. Anishinaabe Chief Wa-be-che-chake from the Sault Ste Marie area, Wa-be-che-chake fell in battle at Fort George on the Niagara Peninsula in 1813. His young son, Nebenagoching (Joseph Sayer) succeeded him as Chief in 1915.
