During these times, woman’s dresses had become looser, flowy and colorful after the death of Louis XIV. This new fashion reflects the cultural shift and transition from baroque to rococo, a period known for their exuberant style.

French dress consists of a skirt and blouse. Skirts were divided into two types, the first one been a bodice dress in one piece without any opening in the front. The second type the skirt had a V-shaped on the front under a petticoat, with some cushions and adorned skirts forming into a two piece dress, this last design was more favored on Spain while the first type was predominantly seen in the rest of Europe.
