The press censorship is the responsibility of the governor. At the end of 1844, de la Fontaine persuades William II to delegate this task in the capital to the chief court councilor Jean-Henri Heuardt. The review of a publication by Pierre-Joseph Boch from 1838 in the April 5, 1845 edition of the Luxemburger Zeitung is an example of how newspapers attempt to express their political opinions despite censorship. Heuardt's note shows how censorship operates. The Luxemburger Zeitung regularly accuses the political authorities of censoring the Catholic organ more strictly than the liberal Courrier du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg. The Luxemburger Zeitung is printed in the printing house of the Freemason Jacques Lamort.
