Released in 1996 for $199, the Nintendo 64 (often styled N64) is the third home video game console in the Nintendo line, and was named for its 64-bit processor. Although not as successful as its predecessors, the iconic Famicom/Nintendo Entertainment System and the follow-up Super Famicom/Super Nintendo, the N64 sold more than 32 million units worldwide. The N64 competed against the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn, and was the only system of the era to continue using traditional cartridges, which were more costly to produce than the optical discs used by its competitors. It was also the first major system to incorporate pressure-sensing analog joysticks into its controller design. Popular N64 games included the groundbreaking 3D Super Mario 64, GoldenEye007, and Doom 64. Nintendo discontinued the N64 in 2003, two years after releasing its successor, the GameCube.

This game, released in the US as Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, is part of a large collection of Japanese Nintendo 64 games in The Strong's collection that represent nearly 100% of all games released for that system.
