Rogue Legacy is a platformer video game with roguelike elements, released by Cellar Door Games in 2013. Players explore a randomly generated dungeon, collect items, find gold to upgrade armor and weapons, and defeat bosses. The game was developed by brothers Kenny and Teddy Lee, who credit inspiration from games such as Dark Souls, Spelunky, and The Binding of Isaac. The game sold more than 100,000 copies within the first week, and earned back its entire development cost of $15,000 after a single hour of sales.
