video game: Windows XP Battlefield 1942

Set during various campaigns of World War II, Battlefield 1942 allows players to experience life on the front lines in the Pacific, European, African, and Italian fronts. Options include piloting jets and bombers, steering submarines and naval capital ships, driving tanks and jeeps, or performing medical and engineering tasks. All maps featured in the game are real, and most battles recreate historical events. Battlefield 1942 is recognized as a popular game for the modding community, with Electronic Arts supporting modders with the official release of the Battlefield Mod Development Toolkit. EA also released two expansions for the game, The Road to Rome and Secret Weapons of WWII.
