Released in 2002, Neverwinter Nights is a third-person role-playing game set in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms campaign. Though technically a single-player game, Neverwinter NIghts uses an engine that allows players to host game servers with up to 64 players. Each server can connect with others, creating a potentially unlimited multiplayer experience. Developers named the game after the 1991 Neverwinter Nights, the very first graphical MMO ever created. BioWare released three expansion packs in 2003 and 2004, and a sequel - Neverwinter Nights 2 - in 2006.
