The Gigaset 2015 Plus is a so-called DECT telephone. DECT, which stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, is a standard for cordless telephone systems. When it was introduced, the purpose of this standard was threefold: improving the quality of transmitted audio, protecting users against wiretapping, and avoiding interference between wireless phones in the same area. These devices were mainly used at home or in the office. The Gigaset 2015 Plus also allowed for multiple devices to be connected to one base station.
