Museu Imperial
Petrópolis, Brazil

Beautiful picture where we see, with architectural details, the whole street of Gloria, with the fountain, the house of Admiral Taylor and a bus pulled by a donkey. All Lapa, the hills of Santa Teresa (part) and Santo Antonio, the Public Promenade, Ajuda, Santa Luzia,Castelo hill and tip of the Calabouço, In the background, the city center, the Mar mountains  and the Órgãos Mountains. In the foreground, near the hill, at the foot of the church, a group of street vendors on the left, and the right a tourist admiring the view with a telescope. Quoted by Francisco Marques dos Santos in Annals of the Imperial Museum in 1946, p.47. Much like the Castro Maya Museum's painting. Belonged to the Jaime Sloan Chermont collection and was sold in Leone in March 1984 to its current owner.
