The restoration of Wilton's front houses by Tim Ronalds Archtects made as few interventions as possible to retain the unique charm and character of Wilton's after decades of disrepair. The houses would have originally been plastered, with ornate plasterwork, fragments of which are in Wilton's archaeology collection. During previous attempts at restoration the plaster was removed and the bare brick walls were left to document the journey the building has been on.
