Berlin, Germany

The Rulers' Hall of the Berlin Zeughaus (armoury), completed in 1881, contained eight larger-than-life statues of the Hohenzollern rulers and a statue of Victoria by Fritz Schaper. The walls were decorated with allegorical paintings and frescoes glorifying the rise of Prussia until the foundation of the Reich in 1871. This photograph from 1934 shows the death mask of the late Reich President Paul von Hindenburg presented in the middle of the room.
