View of Matsuyama Yakyū Inari Shrine

The Yakyū Inari Shrine (located in the Yakyū area of Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture) is known as a shrine for bountiful harvests, successful business, household safety, and artistic improvement. The shrine grounds are shown on the upper halves of the three panels, and visitors to the shrine are depicted on the lower halves. Based on the names written on each visitor's kimono, this scroll is thought to depict kabuki actors. The names include Mitsue (Bandō Mitsuemon), Mino (Bandō Minosuke), Somego (Ichikawa Somegorō), Sōzō (Nishikawa Sōzō), Kinpei, Denku (Nakamura Denkurō), and Daikichi (Anegawa Daikichi). The publisher of these panels is recorded as Iwatoya Kisaburō, located at Yokoyama-chō 2, Edo (present-day Tokyo).
