"View of Monte Santo"

City located south of Canudos, named Monte Santo, name of the mountain that stands out in the background. The local climate differs from the rest of the sertão by the presence of the mountain range, which facilitates the precipitation of rain - the only source of perennial water in the region. It served as a base for the military operations of the last expedition, being also a landing site for Flávio de Barros.
