Panoramic views of the principal Spanish cities, drawn by Anton van den Wyngaerde in the 1570s, are an important source of documentary information. City view of Sanlúcar de Barrameda at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River. Traffic from the Indies passed through the city on its way to the House of Trade (Casa de Contratación) in Seville. It was also where the Medina Sidonia estate was located, that of an influential family during the reign of Philip II of Spain.
