Located at North Head Sanctuary in Manly, the Third Quarantine Cemetery is (together with the nearby Q Station) included on the National Heritage List as a significant example of the nation's evolving quarantine practices. Between 1881 and 1925, more than 240 people were laid to rest at this scenic cemetery, having succumbed to ravages including influenza, the bubonic plague, smallpox and scarlet fever.
