The temple of Hathor at Dendera, located on the West Bank of the Nile, Upper Egypt, is one of the best-preserved temple complexes in Egypt. The ceiling in the Hypostyle hall in the the Hathor Temple has undergone extensive clearning to remove black soot to reveal some of the most vibrant and colourful paintings dating from antiquity.
