View of the corner of Pikk and Tolli streets

Tallinn, Estonia

Even though the image is from the second half of the 19th century, the medieval urban housing has changed little over the centuries, and even today, the corner of Pikk and Tolli streets look quite similar to what is depicted here – Com’era, Dov’era, as the Venetians say. Everything must remain constant. The rightmost building with a high gable end is currently a hotel and it has hosted Elizabeth II, the Queen of the United Kingdom, among others. If you leave houses as they are, they will keep collecting stories for generations to come.
