Royal Academy of Arts
London, United Kingdom

The Royal Academy was established in 1768, and was housed in several places in London before settling into its current spot on Piccadilly. For the institution’s first eight years, the King gave some rooms in Old Somerset House for teaching, as well as the building depicted in this wood engraving: a gallery on Pall Mall, which was just 30 feet long.
