The small oil on canvas represents the Piazza Grande of Parma. Starting from the left, it's possible to see: the Palazzo del Torello, the bell tower and the dome of the Church of San Rocco, the front and the dome of the Church of San Pietro, the roof terraces of the houses symmetrically arranged on the sides of the church and the original entrance to the road, and Bassa dei Magnani street, now Via Mazzini. Continuing in the center of the square, the Ara Amicitiae monument and the division into squares of the entire Piazza Grande, which at the time housed the market, are clearly visible. The square is characterized by the chromatic and architectural uniformity desired by Ennemond Alexandre Petitot in 1760. The scene represented is a glimpse in the daily life of the city and the many figures reflect the characters who populated it.
