Through a studied perspective playing on the diagonal created by the two majestic tree trunks, Gigante directs the viewer’s eye towards the Casteluccia, which is a small octagonal fortress built in the park of the Royal Palace of Caserta in 1769 where princes practiced their mastery of arms.
