The Palizzi brothers frequented the small town called Serra, currently in the Annuzniata hamlet of Cava dè Tirreni, allowing themselves to be inspired by the sweetness of the landscape and intensity of the Neapolitan light. The scene has been worked and refined, as it was intended for approval and exhibition at the Bourbon Exhibition in 1848, where it won the gold medal.
