Herbert Kuron was a landscape painter born in Wrocław, where he began studying art. Later he also studied in Berlin and Dresden. He mainly painted mountain landscapes with calm, often pastel colors. He mainly presented views from the vicinity of Śnieżka Mountain and Śnieżne Kotły (literally Snow Cauldrons) in the Karkonosze Mountains. At first, the artist painted in a realistic, academic style, then he gradually modernized his workshop. This landscape already uses wide planes and the shapes are built with a more streamlined line.
