Views from the East and the South Hall

A view of the congested East Hall (photo 122.9.69) taken in September 1969 before the PS shutdown. In the photograph can be seen the beam-lines, the huts which serve as local control rooms for the experimentalists (many housing on-line computers) and, everywhere, concrete shielding blocks.
