VV: “I had an open elective and one of the choices was art. I was friends with John and I knew John was very talented in art and I knew the students really enjoyed art, so we made an art class happen. John and I co-teach. We have a bunch of students and it’s going really well. Two students came with us here, in our class we have 18 and at the school we have 40. For Cama-i [Dance Festival], we brought a lot of traditional art. In the class we are working on the basics to make sure they have the skills they need to do this kind of work in the future.” — Vincent Villella, Skylar Tom, John T.
