Museo Leonardiano di Vinci
Vinci, Italy

In the fertile Tuscan countryside, the town of Vinci, where Leonardo was born on 15 April 1452, today conserves and enhances the heritage of its most famous citizen through the activities of its cultural institutions. The Leonardo Library, an internationally recognised study and research centre, houses copies of the entire corpus of Leonardo da Vinci’s manuscripts, as well as all the printed editions of his works from the seventeenth century onwards. The Leonardo Museum, with one of the most extensive collections of machines and models inspired by the projects of Leonardo the technologist and engineer, is the perfect spot for learning about the history of the techniques of the Renaissance. Last but not least, the House where he was born in Anchiano, where the exhibition itinerary dedicated to the biography and artistic works of the genius from Vinci blends in with the timeless landscape of the hills of Montalbano, the first source of inspiration for the young Leonardo.
