Vineyards at Balsa

Photograph of a landscape set located next to the village of Balsa, where several tributaries of the Távora River enrich the landscape. This patch stands out for its diversity harmoniously combining vineyards in terraces pre and post phylloxera with vines at the top, on terraces and without frame of the land, as well as recolonized shrubs for forest and olive groves and areas of orchards and terraced gardens. The mosaic is also enriched by scattered trees and walled paths marked by olive trees.
We highlight the network of walled channels and water storage tanks, associated with the water lines, as well as the numerous shelters that punctuate the slopes, some embedded in the walls of the vineyards.
