Vineyards in San Asensio

San Asensio is a Spanish town located in the north of the autonomous community of La Rioja (Spain), centering around the Ebro and Najerilla valleys, atop a hill. Its economic activity is principally based around viticulture and the production of quality wine under the Protected Designation of Origin of Rioja. It is considered to be the birthplace of claret, and every July they celebrate with a bloodless battle.
