Szydlowiec, Poland

Cane-shaped violin made of sycamore wood, top made of spruce and rest made of ebony. The handle is carved in the shape of a bird - cuckoo. Modeled on historical forms, used in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries by dance teachers, or for rehearsing (due to limited volume of sound). Used also as a curiosity across the European folk instrumentarium.
