Virgin of the Rosary

Fragment of a lost altarpiece. It depicts the Virgin Mary with the Child in her arms, surrounded by roses, which allude to the mysteries of the rosary. These mysteries are significant episodes in the lives of Jesus and Mary. The three colors of the rose represent the mysteries of joy, sorrow, and glory.

This panel is attributed to the workshop of the Oms family, a prominent figure in Mallorcan painting during the second half of the 17th century.
