On the background there's a landscape of hills and waters populated by fishermen, farmers, shepherds and ships at mooring; in the center of the composition the Virgin's sitting under a large oak, holding the Child who is about to breastfeeded. On the sides there are three saints, whi are recognizable thanks to their attributes: the one on the left is St.a Martina with the lion, then St. Catherine of Alexandria, kneeling with the broken wheel, and on the right St. Madeleine with the jar with the ointment. The three saints have the same face, an identical Renaissance-style dress and the same pearl necklace with a coral cross and a long golden chain. Their faces are presumably the client of the work's face.
