Garuda is a legendary bird in our mythology and is often described as the king of birds owing to his master and its own powers. He is the vahan (vehicle or mount) of Lord Vishnu and this image depicts Vishnu's consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi seated beside him. Garuda is deemed as the protector with the ability to reach anywhere swiftly, and is typically shown with a serpent in its claws -- signifying the mighty bird as the destroyer of all poison and evil.
