New Delhi , India

Vishnu is the sustainer god of the trinity representing Creation, Sustenance and Destruction. The stylistics of the icon of Vishnu change as it travels from north to south of India. In south Indian examples, Vishnu is represented by a high crown and a wrapped lower garment. The Vishnu represented here holds in his upper right and left hands a chakra and sankha respectively, while the gada and padma are absent. His lower right hand is in abhaya-mudra and the lower left hand is placed on his waist.
