On 20 May, CERN welcomed the President of Austria, His Excellency Franz Jonas, on an official visit. The President saw the construction work on the intersecting storage rings and is seen here together with the Vice President of the Swiss Federal Council, Hans-Peter Tschudi listening to an explanation of the colliding beam principle.
