Polychrome enamelled glass cup with the legend “Vivat D. João V”, from the Royal Factory of Coina, Portuguese manufacture crystal glass from the 18th century established by King John V in 1719.
D. Luís Caetano de Lima devotes the following epigram: “De Vitrea Officina a Rege excitata / Splendida Niliacae sileant commercia gentes / Ne venetum nostra fulgeat urbe labor / Vitrea jam patriis ignescit massa caminis, / Aethereum terris reddere docta jubas / Haec tua fert solers populis industria, Princeps / Hinc tibi vel fragili gloria ab arte venit.”
