This plate is a type of common ex-voto in the amphitheater of Italica (sixteen pieces registered): marble plates with footprints, inlaid in the floor in front of chapels (sacraria).
The inscription says: Aurelius · Polyticus / Nemesi · Praesenti.
Its translation is: Aurelio Politico dedicates it to Nemesis The Present.
These plates, called vestigia, are common in Egyptian cults, but their dedication to the goddess Nemesis has no parallel in the rest of the Roman Empire.
Today, the original piece is exhibited at the Museo Arqueológico de Sevilla. In situ, at the entrance of the amphitheater, is shown a replica.
