The scene depicted in this detached fresco is
undoubtedly linked to the artist himself, as shown by the coats-of-arms borne
by cherubs, which allude to the marriage between Mazzucchelli and Anna
Castiglioni, celebrated in 1599. As for other frescoes by Morazzone in churches
and chapels between Lombardy and Piedmont, there is clearly in-depth spatial
research, with theatrical effects and architectural illusion. In
the foreground, the looming figure of Vulcan faces the viewer, while behind him
are being forged the arms of Love.
