Wading Across the Sea

In all probabilities the figure portrayed here represents the sea-deity who like goddess Tara dwells on sea waves and guides the course of navigators and protects them from all calamities. The artist has discovered the form of the deity’s boat in the peacock, which in some of the manifestations of Tara is her mount.
