Wall ornament (“mollabashi”)

A household item used for decoration of the house interior. It was hung on the center of the wall. It was decorated by purl embroidery method. Such ornaments would determine the social status of families. It was believed that the “mollabashi” element woven on the edges of frames would protect the house and family from evil forces.
