This 19th century cast iron drinking fountain is also known by the French term "Fontaine Wallace," after Sir Richard Wallace who was inspired by the Fontaine des Innocents to install dozens of them as a public amenity throughout Paris, France and the world. Three models were designed by sculptor Charles-Auguste LeBourg, this largest model having been cast in 1872 by the Val D'Osne foundry.
