In late 1907 Wally Weekes allowed a new Club to be formed on a property he owned at North Bondi, Now "Ben Buckler" . The club "Bondi Social and surf club" had 20 members. On the 27th November 1907 the club membership had risen to 75 and they requested Waverley council to supply them with a rescue reel.. On the 6th Jan 1908 Wally Weeks along with ,members Lamb and Whelan rescued Mr Wetherill. By the 23rd February 1908 Waverley council had donated a rescue reel that was presented at a ceremony in the club , The membership had risen to 125 in this short period and the club had already constructed a gym.
In 1909 the club organised a surf carnival at wonderland city ( Tamarama beach ) They competed against Bondi surf club, Bondi Baths life saving club ,North Steyne, Little Coogee and Marourbra clubs
Wally R Weekes was hon Sec of the club. at the 1908 meeting.
By November 1912 The Club name was changed to north Bondi surf life saving club.
He became president 1915 to 1921 and was also elected a life member
