A painting of Bank Junction as seen from Mansion House, after the bombing in 1941.
There is a crater in the centre of the road junction, which has been bridged over to allow vehicles to drive across. The Bank of England is at the left of the picture, and the Royal Exchange is in the centre distance behind the bombsite. Foot traffic and bicycles circle the crater. A crane is in position at the end of Threadneedle Street.
Artist Feliks Topolski RA (1907-1989) made numerous sketches for the Bank of England throughout his career.
